Gas Compliance Certificate in Queensland
Is Your Gas Certificate Up To Date?
In Queensland, any caravan, motorhome or camper trailer with a permanently fixed gas system legally requires a valid gas compliance certificate before it can be sold, transferred, or re-registered. Without one, you’re not just non-compliant, you’re uninsured and liable.

LPG Cylinders & Fittings
We check your gas cylinders are correctly mounted, secured to withstand 4x their weight in all directions, and that all valves, connections and fittings are leak-free and in good condition. Older caravans frequently fail on cylinder mounting.

Regulator & Pressure Testing
Your two-stage regulator must be certified to AS 4621 and must not allow output pressure to exceed 14 kPa. We perform a full pressure leak test at 14 kPa for a minimum of 5 minutes to confirm the system is gas-tight.

Gas Hoses & Pipework
All hose assemblies must be approved, correctly marked, and free from cracking or deterioration. We check that pipework is supported at correct intervals, penetrations into the van are properly sealed, and all connections are secure.

Ventilation & Fluing
Inadequate ventilation is one of the most common reasons caravans fail gas inspection in Queensland. We verify that permanent, unrestricted ventilation is in place for each appliance, and that all flue terminals discharge directly to outside — not into an annex or awning area.

Gas Appliances (Cooktop, Fridge, Hot Water, Heater)
Every permanently fixed gas appliance — cooktop, fridge, hot water system, space heater — is checked for correct installation, clearances from combustible surfaces, and Australian certification (AGA or QGA badges, AS5601 compliance). Imported appliances without Australian certification automatically fail.

Test Point & Shut-Off Valves
Queensland regulations require a gas pressure test point to be installed so the system can be tested at reduced pressure. We also confirm all shut-off valves are operational and that bayonet fittings are correctly connected where required.

Gas Compliance Plate
Caravans are one of the few vehicle types still required to carry a physical gas compliance plate under the updated July 2025 QLD regulations. We verify the plate is present and correctly engraved with the compliance certificate number, licensee details, date, and appliance list — or we fit one on-site if missing.

Safety Signage
Any caravan without a fixed annex must display a warning label at the entry door advising owners to consult a gas fitter before fitting an annex. We confirm all required signage is in place per QLD Government guidelines.

Other Areas
We also inspect additional gas-system safety and compliance points specific to your caravan setup to ensure full compliance before certificate issue.
